I am a Senior Machine Learning & Audio Scientist at Universal Music Group. This role sits within the Music and Audio Machine Learning Lab (MAML) at UMG. The MAML's mission is to support and empower UMG business units and partners with advanced technologies for Music, Audio and Machine Learning. Previously, I worked on AI Multimedia projects at RTL Netherlands, and co-organized multiple AI Song Contest editions.
I did my Ph.D. at Utrecht University in Music Information Retrieval working with Anja Volk and Remco Veltkamp. I am an AI researcher and composer, with degrees in Sound Design and Music Composition from the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, and degrees in Artificial Intelligence from the Utrecht University. After a research internship at Carnegie Mellon University, I completed my PhD in Music Information Retrieval at Utrecht University, studying the computational modelling of variance in musical harmony.
